This Windsor home was built in 2008, and after nearly 20 years the homeowners were ready for an update. The bathrooms still had their original builder finishes: brown cabinets, tiled countertops, drop-in sinks and beige floor tile. They wanted brighter, cleaner spaces that would keep working for them for years to come.
In the primary bath, we removed the jetted tub to make room for an open, spa-like curbless shower that's easy to step into today and down the road. A fixed splash panel stands in for a glass door so the room stays open. Large-format porcelain tile on the walls keeps grout lines to a minimum, stacked mosaic tile adds an accent color, and open shelving gives the homeowners towel storage they never had before. The shower valve sits where they can turn the water on without getting wet.
A white oak vanity with champagne bronze faucets, hardware, mirrors and lighting gives the room a boutique hotel feel. The guest bath carries the same tile color and finishes, set in a stacked pattern from our in-house designer that runs vertical and horizontal for texture, along with another white oak vanity and a champagne bronze widespread faucet.
