Overhangs, Seams, and Edge Details
The details that separate a good countertop install from a great one usually aren’t visible until you run your hand along the edge. Overhang length at an island or peninsula needs enough support to hold weight without cracking, which sometimes means adding corbels or steel bracing depending on the material and the span. Seam placement matters just as much: a seam across the middle of a busy prep area is going to catch more wear and show more dirt than one tucked near a sink or an inside corner where it’s less exposed.
